How do we live our life ?

I want to live my life without stress and worries.. I don’t need to be rich and famous . I just want to be happy. Amid the noise of the world today, what is the state of the hearts of friends? We can see the situation now: some run for peace by taking drugs. There is also a silence at home solely, expect tranquility to come. Not infrequently there are also up to climb the mountain and meditate, looking for peace of life. There are workers who commit suicide because they can not stand the pressure of work and constantly scolded superiors. There are also students who end their lives because they are constantly mocked and laughed at by their classmates.

Most  of people in  this  world think that peace can be obtained from the abundant wealth, position or success that we achieve. Yes we can feel  peace from it but peace is not the right peace.

So where can we get right peace?
            No other. The right peace is available only from Jesus Christ, the Savior. It is only in Jesus that we have perfect peace. Only Jesus who comforts, helps, brings our hearts at every moment. Only with Jesus is we calm, safe, and walking in certainty. As Christian apologist C.S. Lewis says, "God can not give us peace and happiness apart from Himself because there is no such thing." The world may promise something fun but it is only temporary and leads to destruction. If you do not feel peace now, you may be away from that source of peace, God.

The key to making us live in peace is to fellowship with Him. Build intimacy with Him like read the bible  and praying. One thing we need to remember is that peace is given only to those who obey His commands.

RECOUNT TEXT

Recount text also a narrative text that tell about our experience that ever happen for us. A recount is a written out to inform an event to entertain people. The way yo make this text are make the  orientation (provide the setting and introduce participants and then tell what happened in what sequence in the event, after that make the re-orientation it is an optional-closure of event, you can make it or not.

My Sweet Seventeen

On 21st june,2013 I sat at the second class in senior high school. That was my birthday at that time. That was a beautiful sunset in the morning, that made me so spirit to woke up. There was a good light from the sun when I opened my window, the fresh air entered my room at that time. I prepared myself to go school.

When I arrived in my school. There were many my friends that said “happy birthday” to me. But no with my close friend, they didn’t say anything to me. I felt so sad at that time. Why they didn’t say anything for me ? did the forget my birthday ? but I thought that was impossible. What happen  with them ? many questions that I asked on my mind.

After I finished to followed to follow all the subject. I went to my boarding house. After I arrived there, I directly went to my bedroom, but before I enter to my bedroom, I heard the noisy from outside my room. I heard the commotion. I tried to found and looked, whose sounds it was. I looked from my windows, but I didn’t found it. So, I decided to returned to my bedroom. I changed my uniform, after that I decided to got my lunch. But suddenly , there was a knocked. When I opened my door, I was really surprised because I looked my best friends there. They sang a song of happy birthday while brought the cake with the candles on it. I was really happy and really surprised at that time. I made a wish before I blew the candles. After that we ate the cake together, and they gave me a gift. I received a big doll from them. I really happy at that time, actually I had felt disapointed with them, because they forgot my birthday. But in fact they remembered my birthday and they also made the surprised for me. I really touched at that time and always remember that moment in mind.

GENDER EQUALITY OF BATAK TOBA AND MINANGKABAU

       In various conversations or a topic of discussion on "Gender" in the Batak culture, some of whom consider "women" received an unequal position with "male". In Toba Batak culture, men with women's status difference is easy to see. This is because the Batak culture, male - female is a carrier of the clan (the lineage of men ) . So the men in Batak are very privileged position.

            In this case can be seen that the Batak culture, especially in Batak Toba their gender differences that occur. Status and position of the male more in particular about the rights of a wife. Then we can see, it is not uncommon Batak women widows living alone, he should be able to as a father who can finance their children and a mother who can take care of children. Life works hard to support his family. And if we think about it, a woman  are human beings who have feelings and needs. Women also need a friend to sleep and friends to share joy and sorrow.

            Besides gender differences Batak Toba we see where if we go to the Batak’s  township we can see the mothers are working hard both the home and the fields to fulfill the needs of her family, but her husband instead riches in the tavern wine drinking and having fun , If the husband came home from work home he had served, from preparing food, bath water etc. If all his request was not granted he would get angry and beat his wife.

            Gender differences also occur to the child. Boys and girls. In a household, if they do not have a son they will try always to make children until they have a son. Because men are into the lineage of his father and clan carrier. Then the boy a very special man, so in daily life , the son greatly in favoring.

            In daily life, boys are also very taboo to do the work of women, boys only prepared to be a successful child and in demand to study and learn. The boy even though he are still in school (high school) both parents have prepared her son going where he would take his life, for example, he will be prepared by the going where he would be in highest level school , the parents do not care want how much his money runs out as long as her son may succeed. Compare what if the circumstances that happened to his daughter? His parents would think 10 times to send her, because her father think of girls doing high schooled daughter anyway also will only work in the kitchen.

 Here are some cases of gender in the life of the Batak Toba:
            1. Toba Batak society is a society that embraced patrilineal kinship system (based on the lineage of the men). In the division of inheritance is always men who got the biggest part, very rarely inheritance given to women. This shows the disparity in the distribution of inheritance in the traditional Batak Toba. Women in traditional environments are always in number-emphasized. In very rare indigenous Toba Batak daughter receives the inheritance.

2. In social life, the Batak people are always faced with various ceremonies / parties (weddings, parties death) and other ceremonies. In the ceremony that usually there is a discussion, a discussion that may include a discussion of the problems in the ceremony. Matrilineal system is a system that regulates the life and order of a society that is bonded in a tangle of kinship in the maternal line. A boy or girl is a clan of communalism mother. Dad can’t put their children into the tribe as applicable in the patrilineal system. In other words, a child in minangkabau will follow his mother's tribe.
            Everything was arranged by the maternal lineage. do not have a clear legal sanctions regarding the existence of this matrilineal system, meaning there is no binding legal sanctions if someone violated the system. This system only taught generations later agreed upon and adhered to, there is no reference book or a book of laws. However, as far as any of an interpretation do it, essentially fixed and did not move from the function and role of women themselves.

The characteristics of matrilineal kinship system adopted in minangkabau rate is as follows:
1. Heredity is calculated according to mother’s lineage
2. Parts formed according to mother’s lineage

 A man in his tribe minangkabau could not pass on to their children. So if there are no     girls in the tribe it can be said that the tribes have become extinct.
3. Each person is required to marry outside the tribe (exogamy)
             According to the customary rules minangkabau person can not marry someone from the same tribe. If that happens then it may be subject to existing laws, such as the socially excluded.
4. The real power is the brother
             Who exercise power in minangkabau are men, women minangkabau positioned as a binder, preserver, and a store of treasures.
5. Marriage is matrilocal, the husband visited the home of his wife
6. The rights and inheritance bequeathed by mamak to his nephew and brother from the mother to the child of a sister.

My Ambition- English learning

MY AMBITION

Hello guys !!!.. Let me introduce myself. I'm Friska Sidabutar. In this time, I want to share about my ambition. I think some people also ever do the same thing like me, ever changed their dream. Did you ever change your aspiration or future goals several times when you were kids? If that question is sent to me and then I will answer “Yes, I did.” When I was a kid, aspiration was only about the job or occupation that I will take when I finish my study or about major that I will take in the university. I never thought before that future goals or aspiration was not only about them.

Now, by the time I grow up, I have known that it means bigger and broader than major or occupation. It can mean your dream, too. It can mean your obsession and ambition in filling the life we live. It can be more than one thing. It can be many things as much as we believe we can make it happen. Sometimes, it comes through inspiration, but sometimes it is built through time and process. And this time I am following the process, I am really ready made become a professional teacher, because this is my real dream.

Every people in this world of course have a dream in their life, so do I. I have so many dreams that I want to make it comes true. I want to be a success woman later, this is my ambition since I was child. Before I continue about my ambition, let me tell you about my experience, because this experience will support about my ideal story. I have some hobbies such as, swimming,drawing,dancing and singing. I like arts, that's why I feel so happy when there was a lesson of arts in my school when I was in elementary school, junior high school, and also senior high school. I like arts, especially in the part of singing. Although my voice is not too good and not bad too. But my friends said that my voice is nice to heard.  I like singing since I was childhood. Because of this hobby I have any ambition to be a singer or an artist this is my ambition when I was child, and I really like if my mother bought a new CD, because I like to watch and heard how the technique of a singer to sing a song. I like to learn about it.         

            Several past later, I changed my ambition, because when my family and I took a vacation, we went to Siantar Zoo to see the kinds of animal there. There was my first time to visit that zoo, because our village was rather far from Siantar. It took two hours to arrived Siantar from my village. When we  were arrived in zoo. I was very happy because I can met with the other person, at that time that place was really crowded, and I went to the some place to see the animal, and I did not realize that I was left my family. When I saw around me I did not find them. I felt so scared at that time, and I started to cry. Suddenly there was a police woman come to close to me. She used her uniform. She was really beautiful with it. She has short hair. And she asked me why did I sad, and I told her what happen and at that time she helped me to find my family, and the end we found it. I was very happy, and then we thankful for her kindness. Start from it, I have an ambition to be a police woman. But day by day that ambition become turn off, because my physics did not able become a police woman. I have a new dream, I want to be a teacher until now the dream still grow up on mind.

As my choice today I want to be an English teacher in my future that's why I choose this faculty. I really hope that I will graduate from my campus in 2018, and I really hope when I graduate from this campus I will get the good job. Especially in education part. I want to be an  English teacher. I like to be a teacher because teacher is the hero. She can change someone’s life, she can open the perspective of someone, and change some people be better. They can teach their student, transfer their knowledge to the other people, and tell them how to have a bright future and not only that beside as a teacher, they also can be as the parents, friend, motivator to their student. That’s why I interest to be a teacher.

As we know in this era, there are so many people who have a willing become a teacher. Because this job only need part of time, we do not need to work full time for a long day. After back from  the school, they can give their time for their family, and they can gather with their family. They can spent their time to take care their children. And we also now that the salary of teacher years by years always up and their salary will be enough for their family.

In my future I really hope that I will be a professional teacher, I have to become a teacher who the student love. I have to do the best for getting the best result in my future later. I have to able to keep my relationship with my coworker, my students, my leader, and the people who around me. I must be able become a sample for my student. I must have a good attitude so that the people around me will be feel comfortable near with me. how the ways to be like that? Of course I have to prepare myself.
