State Universities (PTN) AND Private University (PTS)

From the beginning until today, many people crave to go to the State University when it passed the level of the senior high school. Many ways and effort to succeed in the dream, either positive or negative way. As if this becomes a mindset that is inherent in the community Indonesia and stubborn, be it for reasons of quality or pride.

As if the pattern is formed, causing an in herent view of the quality of the State University of far better than Private University. Because many of the graduates of the State University of a much more successful when he graduated from the school, although not all of them successful.        

Even though, the Private University currently experiencing much more rapid progress in terms of quality and quantity even exceeds the State University in general that developed if there is an injection of funds from the government only and not 100% independent.

Which is better, public universities or private universities? Often many graduates from high school that faces the dilemma to choose the best colleges for them. Not infrequently believe that the State University certainly better than the Private University. It can not be denied because it is in fact a lot of Private University who just became the world reserve their place to continue his education. The view of society that is better than the State University Private University is not entirely true. But if the reality is always so? As well as any college that we choose will not always reflect the level of academic capacity and good non academic of graduates.
            Why do people tend to choose the State University? The reason why they chose State University for their hopes that the chance to get a job in the future is greater than the Private University. In fact, many companies prefer graduates of private universities that excel in terms of capability and competence compared to graduates of public universities. In addition, they assume that the more prestigious state university graduate and will be looked upon more favorably than private. Many of those who are eager to enter the State University so they look for courses that a low level of competition and then select it in the hope of a greater likelihood accepted. They just want to come and be registered as students of the State University, but was not aware if the interests and abilities are not in accordance with the chosen subject.

            There are some things that the reason why many people choose a more dominant than the State  University Private University
            1. About the cost, it is common knowledge that most students do not choose a private college because tuition is expensive, especially the less fortunate. it was reasonable for private universities are not subsidized by the government, while public universities are subsidized by the government. heavily dependent private colleges themselves to charges that they can from the students and the institutions that support them. But not everyone who entered the State University has tuition is cheap, there is also a portion of their pay tuition fees are relatively expensive.
            Considering the actual costs are allocated to continuously improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia amid fiercer competition. But not only at the State University only, Private University also provides scholarships for new students and other scholarships for high achievers to enable every child to get an education.
            2. On quality, the mind set of most of Indonesian society, including our own parents consider public universities choose a better quality than private colleges. The assessment is based on accreditation of public universities are better than private colleges. But for me it can’t be a reference because no matter how good the accreditation of a college but that ourselves incompetent, will remain the same. if on this quality all depend on each of us personally, capable or not we live life as a student.
            3. Accreditation
            Accreditation of any college is the main attraction for prospective new students. Accreditation became one of the reference universities to further improve the quality of higher education and the quality of its graduates. Accreditation also ensures the college has met the applicable quality standards. Not all accredited State University ahead of Private Universities, it can be seen from what is selected courses at the university. Not necessarily a specific department at the State University A is better than Private University B.
            We can see the ratings from accredited universities. Most of the Private University have applied for accreditation, but others have not. Though accreditation status is essential to guarantee the right of graduates get jobs. Students who graduated need to promote the status of Private Universities, if want to study in Private Universities. Not all accredited private university, while most State University have gained that status. Each of these universities, both public and private have advantages and disadvantages. Many graduates of state universities in Indonesia outperformed private universities in certain fields. Even some favorite State University ranked higher. But many of Private Universities in Indonesia which is taken into account in Asia or the world.
            4. Job Prospects
            Usually private universities better prepare you to enter the workforce with all the training and briefing you received there. According to Compass, many fresh graduates looking for work because of previous difficulties have no work experience or skills sought by companies. This is the appeal of a private university, which is to prepare students to become reliable workers. If you prefer a state university, then you will be directed to continue your higher studies. Employment issues, public universities are now usually have some sort of career center as a place to exchange information about the world of work. However, private universities generally more connections with these companies leading. So, in terms of hiring labor, private universities more wins.
            5. Lecturer / Lecturer
            Lecturers in public universities are all Civil Servants, with a small portion or other guest lecturers. A lecturer at a private university comes from a different background, for example, former Ambassador, former Minister or something.

Conclusion:

            Not all graduates of the country's better, in fact many are still unemployed. not much different  from the same private, not so bad really, the evidence is still much more successful than the country. In fact all those things better or worse it depends on the individual. if he studied at university most bona fide nation in this country but he rarely lecture, lecture just remember if his work was just dozing,  just wrote he still going to be a perpetual student. not much different from the same private. If he enrolled in private but he is very diligent to followed student exchange by the campus, it was very nice. So it all depends on the individual.
            The best graduates instead of the State University graduate or leading private, but rather how their knowledge can be practiced dibangku school for people - people who are more in need is not just a need. Because that's the real purpose of science that we all learned from childhood until this moment.
